Why Isagenix makes this one

What it was built to do

Nutritionally complete meal in a shake so a Shake Day meal isn’t a compromise.

What actually makes it different

24g undenatured grass-fed New Zealand whey, ~240 cal, 24 whole-food vitamins and minerals, digestive enzymes.

Who it suits

Default Shake Day meal replacement, 2-3 meals daily.

The dividing line

Plant-Based IsaLean differs by protein source only; Performance Protein by dose only, 24g vs 36g.

What the reformulation actually traded

The MCT reformulation is not a straight upgrade. Against the previous version it carries slightly fewer calories and carbohydrates and lower cholesterol — but higher saturated fat, higher sodium and a lower net weight per canister. Both directions are real. A brand page will lead with the first three; you deserve the other three in the same paragraph.

Details the shop page leaves out

  • The 24 vitamins and minerals are whole-food sourced — from mushrooms, broccoli, sweet potato and kale — which supplies multiple vitamer forms rather than one synthetic form. Two shakes give roughly 50% DV.
  • The whey is undenatured concentrate plus milk protein concentrate from pasture-raised grass-fed cows not treated with hormones or routine antibiotics. Kosher certified.
  • If the canister looks under-filled: powder settles in transit. The net weight and serving count on the label are still what is inside.

Recall history

In November 2020 the Canadian Food Inspection Agency issued a Class 1 recall covering certain IsaLean products for over-fortification of vitamins, with affected listings including some IsaLean Shake variants such as Creamy Dutch Chocolate and Birthday Cake in specified Canadian lots. The notice stated illnesses had been reported in connection with the recalled products. A separate November 2020 recall covered the Whole Blend Plant-Based Shake in Banana Bread for over-fortification of minerals, with no reported illnesses at that time. These were Canadian recalls of specific 2020 lots. They are historical, not current, and the Whole Blend line has since been retired.
